From composition to application to better understand self-aligning ball bearings

wallpapers Products 2020-11-20
The self-aligning ball bearings are a double-row bearing with a spherical outer ring raceway. The inner ring, ball and cage can rotate freely around the center of the bearing, with self-aligning properties. Its centering ability can compensate for alignment errors, shaft deformation and bearing seat deformation. Self-aligning ball bearings are suitable for transmission bearings where the shaft and upper shell are difficult to center and the shaft is prone to deflection. Self-aligning ball bearings can bear the bidirectional axial load and radial load.

The composition of self-aligning ball bearings
The self-aligning ball bearing is a double row ball bearing in which the outer ring raceway is processed into a spherical shape and the inner ring has two deep groove raceways. It has a self-aligning performance. Self-aligning ball bearings are double row non-separable bearings. The bearing consists of an outer ring with a spherical raceway, an inner ring with a cylindrical or tapered hole, a ball and a cage assembly. It is mainly used to bear radial load. While bearing radial load, it can also bear a small amount of axial load, but generally cannot bear pure axial load. Its limit speed is lower than that of deep groove ball bearings.

This type of bearing is mostly used on dual-support shafts that are prone to bend under load, and in parts where strict coaxiality cannot be guaranteed by double bearing holes, but the relative inclination of the centerline of the inner ring and the centerline of the outer ring shall not exceed 3 degrees.

Types of self-aligning ball bearings
The inner hole of the 12, 13, 22 and 23 series self-aligning ball bearings can be cylindrical or conical. The self-aligning ball bearing whose inner hole taper is 1:12 (code suffix K) can be directly installed on the conical shaft, or it can be installed on the cylindrical shaft through an adapter sleeve.

Sealing of self-aligning ball shaft
Bearings are divided into open and sealed designs. Self-aligning ball bearing series 12, 13, 22 and 23 also have bearings with sealed design. Sealed bearings have contact seals on both sides, with the suffix 2RS.

Bearing clearance of self-aligning ball bearings
The basic type of cylindrical hole self-aligning ball bearing is made of an ordinary group. Bearings with larger radial clearance (code suffix C3) are available upon request. The radial clearance of the basic type of self-aligning ball bearing with the tapered bore is the C3 group which is larger than the ordinary group.

Lubrication and working temperature of self-aligning ball bearings
The deep groove ball bearing with dust cover and the sealing ring has been filled with the appropriate amount of grease during assembly. It should not be heated or cleaned before installation, and no relubrication is required during use.

The operating temperature is limited by the grease and the sealing material, so the operating temperature range is also different: the operating temperature range of the open bearing with a brass cage is –30°C to +150°C; with glass fiber reinforced nylon cage The maximum operating temperature of the bearings is +120°C; the operating temperature range of sealed self-aligning ball bearings is –30°C to +100°C.

The main purpose of self-aligning ball bearings
Self-aligning ball bearings are suitable for bearing heavy loads and shock loads, precision instruments, low-noise motors, automobiles, motorcycles, metallurgy, rolling mills, mining, petroleum, papermaking, cement, sugar crushing and other industries and general machinery. They are used in the machinery industry The most widely used type of bearing.
